Olympic Sculpt
Background
The global economy is changing at an unprecedented rate. Advances in technology dramatically change the way we work and think. Science innovation and creativity are at the heart of these transformations. The foundations for successful science and art learning are made in schools.
The purpose of this project is to enthuse teaching in both science and art. The target audience is students studying both science and art and design.
During the project, students will visit museums observing and studying sculpture based on sports and movement. They will use their studies as a context for learning about forces and their effects, being fit and healthy (science) and the human form (art and design).
The project is based on the Channel 4 - Big Art Project and involves Brampton Manor and Kingsford Schools in the London Borough of Newham.
